TUCSON, AZ -

Make your 4th of July memorable with soccer and fireworks! Kino North Stadium is host to the annual 4th of July Blast featuring the second Southwest Showdown soccer match between FC Tucson and Albuquerque Sol F.C. on Saturday, July 4th at 7:30 PM.

The Southwest Showdown began last year as a way to determine who comes out on top between FC Tucson and Albuquerque Sol F.C. each year. The winning team is the whichever took more points in the matches that make up the Showdown. Last year's inaugural game was won by FC Tucson, starting a tradition of victory that should continue again this year.

"Albuquerque Sol are quickly becoming FC Tucson's most important rival. The Southwest Showdown focuses this rivalry on a two leg competition, with the winner taking home the Golden Rattler. A trophy on the line and a playoff spot in the balance guarantees the Showdown will be a thrilling game for the fans," said Greg Foster, managing partner of FC Tucson.

This game is the second and last match in the Showdown. The first was hosted by Albuquerque and ended in a win for the Sol. FC Tucson needs a solid win to take home the Golden Rattler trophy for 2015.

"The second annual FC Tucson Fourth of July Blast will be a fantastic event for an Independence Day celebration! Soccer fans and families can support their local team, listen to live music, sip an Eegee's and catch a spectacular fireworks show from the cool grass on the pitch at Kino North Stadium. We broke the North Stadium attendance record at the last Fourth of July Blast and hope to do so, again, this year!" said Foster.
