PIMA COUNTY, AZ ( Tucson News Now) - Drivers heading out west of Tucson can expect some slow and go, due to material hauling along State Route 86 (Ajo Way).
Lane closures will be in affect just east of Sells from Monday, June 22 to Thursday, July 2. Work hours will last from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Pilot cars will be on scene to guide travelers through the two mile work zone, according to Arizona Department of Transportation. The two lane highway will reduce to a single travel lane during construction hours. Expect delays up to 15 minutes.
This work is part of a project to widen a segment of State Route 86 to provide a 12 foot travel lane in each direction. ADOT crews will also construct eight foot shoulders, add turn lanes in some locations and extend drainage culverts.
Always remember to drive slowly and carefully in all construction zones.
