TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - By Michelle Floyd

Arizona Wildcat basketball alum Matt Korcheck ('15) has found life in a new sport, Australian Rules Football. He's been invited to train with the Carlton Blues.

After an impressive tryout at the Florida screening camp in April, Australian Rules Football development coach Matthew Capuano backed the move saying how Korcheck was the most impressive athlete at the trial.

Korcheck will spend a few weeks with the Blues with the hopes of signing a contract.  The club will have first rights to signing Korcheck because they are paying the costs of his stay.

If Korcheck does sign, he will be joining other enlisted Americans who play for St. Kilda (Jason Holmes), Collingwood (Mason Cox) and North Melbourne (Eric Wallace).

Carlton's new recruiting head, Stephen Silvagni, and football chief Andrew McKay will be making the final decision on Korcheck.
