Emergency sewer repair impacts SW side

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Emergency sewer repair will impact southwest side drivers through Wednesday evening.

Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department will work on the intersection of Mission Road and Irvington Place (just north of Irvington Road) through 5 p.m.

Expect the following lane restrictions:

- Northbound traffic along S. Mission Road will shift to the right turn lane approximately 50 yards south of the W. Irvington Place intersection. After   passing the intersection, drivers must stay inside the shoulder for a distance of approximately 10 yards – where lane restrictions end.

- Southbound traffic along S. Mission Road will shift to the left lane approximately 50 yards north of the W. Irvington Place intersection. Lane         restrictions end approximately 20 yards south of W. Irvington Place.

- Eastbound traffic along W. Irvington Place will only be permitted to make a right turn at the S. Mission Road intersection. The right turn lane will be closed, but traffic can use the center lane to make a right turn.

- Westbound traffic along W. Irvington Place will only be permitted to make a right turn at the S. Mission Road intersection.

All left turns will be prohibited in the S. Mission Road and W. Irvington Place intersection.

These repair activities will involve digging and open excavation during the day. Travelers should take precautions and drive slowly and carefully while work takes place.

Construction schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions and equipment status.
