TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Commercial truck drivers are unhappy with most road conditions across the nation, according to a recent survey.
National Retail Systems Incorporated says the majority of drivers polled blame poor roads for weekly, or even daily hold ups. The logistics company claims 60 percent of these professionals polled called the roads worse than ever before. One percent of those who responded said the roads never affected them.
NRS said bad roads can cause costly truck damage and end up hurting major transportation companies. The American Trucking Association estimates that the U-S is already short about 30-thousand drivers.
They said this rising number is partly due to rough driving conditions, and expect the shortage to get worse in the coming years.
