PHOENIX (Tucson News Now) - Patrick Corbin is back.
The Arizona Diamondbacks anointed ace of the future will make his first start on Saturday since Tommy John surgery forced him to miss the entire 2014 season.
Corbin was scheduled to be Arizona's Opening Day starter in Australia before the injury scrubbed those plans right before the club departed for that trip last season to Sydney.
The soon-to-be 26-year old ascended to the top of the rotation after a stellar 1st full season in the big leagues in 2013 that saw him posted a 14-8 record with a 3.41 ERA and 178 strikeouts.
His performance that season anded him on the N.L. All-Star team.
Manager Chip Hale says Corbin will be limited to no more than 90 pitched against the Colorado Rockies and probably will not eclipse 100 pitched at all this season.
