Road closed for emergency sewer repair this week

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Delays continue on a portion of the southwest side this week, as Pima County crews perform sewer repair.

Northbound Mission Road will remain closed between Irvington Road and Irvington Place for approximately seven days, while workers repair an underground sewer.

Plan for slower speeds in each direction, as all traffic will have to narrow and shift to the southbound side of the road.

Other traffic restrictions include:

  • A three-way stop in the intersection of S. Mission Road and W. Via Ingresso.
  • Southbound S. Mission Road between W. Via Ingresso and Irvington Place will turn into a two-way road to accommodate traffic to and from Associated Dental Care only.
  • Northbound S. Mission Road between W. Via Ingresso and Irvington Place will turn into a two-way road to accommodate traffic to and from residential areas located along Irvington Place (east of S. Mission Road) and W. Mission Place and will also serve to provide access to and from Charity Tabernacle. These areas will not be accessible from W. Irvington Road.
  • Those who live west of S. Mission Road/north of W. Irvington Road and use Irvington Place to enter or exit their neighborhood can use W. Sindle Place or S. Jamaica Way as an alternate route.

Remember to drive slowly and carefully through this and all construction zones around town. Be aware of construction workers and equipment in the area.
