Wildcats finish strong in Orlando

Orlando, FL (KOLD) - Aaron Gordon sat on the last day of Summer League play. Probably for the best. If nothing else, the former Wildcat had earned it. By the end, Gordon finished with with a 21.7 point and 11.7 rebound per game average. Had he played in the final game he would have easily run away as the points leader (former Duck Joseph Young won that honor with a 22.5 per game average).

If Aaron Gordon was the front runner for league MVP (he was), Stanley Johnson wasn't too far behind. Johnson finished fourth in points per game with an 16.2 point average. On Friday, Johnson put up 10 points against the Miami Heat. It was his lowest point total since scoring 13 in his first game against Orlando.

Finally, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson played a solid contest in a 82-73 loss to Frank Kaminsky and the Charlotte Hornets. Hollis-Jefferson finished with 22 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals (including one off Kaminsky that had to feel pretty good).

Of the three, Hollis-Jefferson will be the only one to continue summer league play as the Las Vegas tournament begins. There, Hollis-Jefferson will meet up with three other former teammates, Atlanta's Brandon Ashley, Philadelphia's T.J. McConnell, and Houston's Nick Johnson.
