Jones, Skowron Named to Watch Lists

TUCSON, Ariz. – Redshirt junior Cayleb Jones and redshirt senior Casey Skowron were each named to a national award watch list on Wednesday. Jones was included on the Biletnikoff Award Watch List (nation’s top receiver) while Skowron was included on the Wuerffel Trophy Watch List (national community service award).

Jones led all UA receivers with 1,019 yards and nine scores in 2014. An All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention honoree, he totaled 73 receptions and averaged 14.0 ypc and 72.8 ypg. He’s also been named Athlon Sports Preseason First-Team All-Pac-12 and Phil Steele Preseason Second-Team All-Pac-12.

Skowron, Arizona’s returning kicker from 2014, handled kickoff, field goal and PAT duties in all 14 games. A Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention honoree, he led the conference and ranked 16th nationally in scoring with 123 points. Skowron has more than 30 hours of community service to his credit and is active in Uplifting Athletes, visits to Diamond Children’s Medical Center and the Boys and girls Club.

Beginning in 2015, The Home Depot College Football Awards will have a new home at the College Football Hall of Fame and Chick-fil-A Fan Experience in Atlanta. Airing live on ESPN on Dec. 10, 2015, college football’s brightest stars will be honored for their performance on and off the field.

The Wildcats’ season opener hosting UTSA will be played on Thurs., Sept. 3 at Arizona Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. MST/PT on Pac-12 Networks.
