Northwest YMCA wins swim title

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Northwest YMCA took the title Thursday at a weather-shortened Santa Cruz League Championship swimming meet at Amphi High School.

The Santa Cruz League is one of four competitive summer swimming leagues under the Southern Arizona Aquatics Association umbrella.

Kids from the ages of four-to-18 race in all the swimming disciplines.

The program has produced state champions such as Sabino's Taylor Nations who took home Division II prep titles last season in the 100-back and 100-free.

The event was halted midway through due to lightning in the area.
