TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

She’s 16 and in second place.

Saundra Lynn Kirby, or just Saundra Lynn for short, is having a pretty good season driving in the Pro Stock Division out at Tucson Speedway.

She finished seventh Saturday night at Desert Thunder and entered the race just 15 points behind leader Kalvin Catlin with Top 5 finishes in all but two races.

Lynn, the only female driving in the division this season, won the Pro Stock event on May 2nd.

Saundra recently showed up at Tucson Speedway with her #63 car painted in chalkboard paint.

The switch has given her fans a more interactive way to connect with her during the nightly driver Meet and Greet. Adults and children can write messages on the car which remained displayed during the race.
