TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Lester Medford has one more shot at a deep NCAA Tournament run.
The Amphi High School-product who helped the Mustangs win the 2011 4A-II state basketball championship will play his senior season at Baylor in 2015-16.
Medford helped the Bears to The Dance this past year averaging eight points and three assists while shooting 38% from behind the three-point arc.
Baylor (24-10) was bounced in their 2nd round tournament opener when Georgia State's R.J. Hunter nailed a desperation three as Medford put a hand in his face.
It was one of the iconic moments of this past year's tournament.
Medford is spending this summer here in Tucson working on his game under the tutelage of his dad Kelvin Eafon (UA '96), head boys basketball coach at Pueblo High School.
He started his college career at Arizona Western, sat out a year to attend school at Pima College before enrolling at Indian Hills (IA) to play his sophomore season. He entered Baylor last fall as a junior college transfer.
