TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - South side drivers will encounter a closure on a portion of Country Club Road next week, according to City of Tucson officials.
Crews will begin milling (removing old asphalt) and paving Country Club Road, between 22nd Street and Aviation Parkway at 6 a.m. on Monday This work will continue through 6 p.m. This portion of the project should last through both Monday and Tuesday.
Due to the narrow width of the roadway, the southbound side of Country Club will completely close to traffic during these hours. This will not impact the northbound lanes.
This roadwork is part of the Country Club Road resurfacing project, which spans from Speedway Boulevard to Aviation Parkway. It's part of the $100 million, five year street bond program, Road Recovery. Road Recovery is funded by voter approved bonds.
Tucson Department of Transportation officials said they will always maintain access to businesses and homes in the area, unless equipment is parked in front of a driveway.
Remember to drive slowly and carefully through any work zone. Watch for construction workers and equipment in the area.
