Wildcat Volleyball goes back to work

Tucson, AZ (KOLD) - This is a new year. UA volleyball coach Dave Rubio would like to stress that. Which means last year, when Arizona finished third in arguably the top conference in the nation? When Arizona won 24 matches and ended up hosting an NCAA Regional? That's so 2014.

Gone are seniors like Madi Kingdon, Taylor Arizobal, Ronni Lewis, and Rachael Rhoades. In their place is...well...one lone returning senior. Halli Amaro. She of 171 kills last season. That's a good start. Alongside junior setter Penina Suka and red shirt sophomore middle blocker McKenzie Jacobson and that's a pretty solid core.

The newbies are what to watch for. Rubio collected the 14th ranked class in the nation, a class that included Harvey Mason's daughter Mia and her high school teammate Tyler Spriggs.

The first test comes in Dallas on August 28th when Arizona faces SMU in the SMU Invite.
