TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Pueblo Warriors won seven football games in 2014 but did not go to the post-season.

PHS came up short after a 56-14 season finale loss to Sabino in the Section championship game. The win for the Sabercats allowed them to grab the 16th and final playoff spot in Division III.

The Warriors are now a Division IV team after realignment and will be in Section II where they should be able to fare well against the likes of Catalina, Palo Verde, Santa Rita, Douglas, Empire and Thatcher.

Thatcher has captured six state championships, their last in 2006, and have managed to win ten games in each of the last four seasons. The Eagles figure to be the favorite in the section.

Pueblo is in their second season under New York Giants and UA alum Brandon Sanders ('96).

The Warriors return one of the top rushers in the Southern Arizona in Jorge Romero. The senior has run for just shy of 2,200 yards in the last two seasons.

Multi-position threats Justin Pledger (QB/WR) and Frankie Gomez (WR/QB) will compliment Romero again on offense.

Seniors Jasiah Booth, Fransico Flores and junior Michael Beltran will anchor the line on both sides of the ball.
