NEW YORK (Tucson News Now) - Arizona is the 12th worst state for drivers, according to a new BankRate.com report.
In this survey, researchers looked at things like like fatal crashes, car thefts, and time it takes to get to and from work, according to a press release.
The numbers stack up to about 1.43 fatal crashes per 100 million miles driven in Arizona and 263 car thefts per 100,000 people.
While our deadly crash and car theft numbers have surged above the national average, our commute time is lower than the rest of the country. It's about 24 minutes each way.
It looks like our cheap gas prices helped our ranking. Arizona drivers spend an average of $893.22 dollars on fuel. That's well below the United States average.
The survey graded Louisiana as the worst state to hit the road, while Idaho is considered the best.
