Dbacks recall Burgos

PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled right-handed pitchers Enrique Burgos and Matt Stites (@matt_stites) and infielder Brandon Drury from Triple-A Reno, as announced by D-backs Sr. Vice President & General Manager Dave Stewart.

Burgos, 24, has appeared in 22 games over 2 stints with the D-backs this season, going 1-2 with 2 saves, a 5.14 ERA (12 ER in 21.0 IP) and 32 strikeouts. He also has gone 0-1 with 11 saves and a 3.70 ERA (10 ER in 24.1 IP) and 38 strikeouts in 25 outings with Reno and Double-A Mobile.

Stites, 25, was 1-1 with 3 saves and a 3.86 ERA (11 ER in 25.2 IP) in 23 games with Triple-A Reno in 2015. He also appeared in 4 games over 2 stints with the D-backs this season, posting a 3.86 ERA (1 ER in 2.1 IP). Stites began the season on the disabled list with right elbow inflammation.

Drury, 23, combined to hit .303 (159-for-524) with 40 doubles, 5 home runs, 61 RBI and 65 runs scored in 130 games with Reno and Mobile. He played 62 games at second base, 61 at third and 9 at shortstop, and is currently tied for fourth in all of the Minor Leagues in doubles.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder entered 2015 ranked by Baseball America and MLB.com as the D-backs’ No. 7 Prospect. Drury has been named to 2 postseason All-Star Teams (2011, ‘13) and 3 midseason All-Star squads (2013-15), and earned Appalachian League Player of the Year honors in 2011.

In 6 Minor League seasons in the Atlanta Braves (2010-12) and D-backs’ (2013-) organizations, Drury hit .285 (710-for-2,487) with 185 doubles, 60 home runs and 363 RBI in 638 games. He led the Minors with 51 doubles in 2013, and has 133 doubles over the last 3 seasons.

Drury, who will wear No. 62, was acquired from the Braves on Jan. 24, 2013 with infielder/outfielder Martin Prado, right-handed pitchers Randall Delgado and Zeke Spruill and infielder Nick Ahmed for outfielder Justin Upton and infielder Chris Johnson. Drury was selected by the Braves in the 13th round of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft.
