Traffic signal shut down set to take place in Marana Wednesday

MARANA, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Marana officials will temporarily disable traffic signals at Ina Road and Thornydale Road, as part of a long term pedestrian safety project.

Police will be on scene to guide drivers through here from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This should cut down on driving delays.

Construction crews need to complete electrical upgrades here. Workers will eventually relocate the existing traffic signal and light pole to the southwest corner of the intersection.

This is all part of the "Ina Road right turn bays onto Thornydale" project. When this is complete, it will significantly improve safety and efficiency along Ina Road. It should benefit drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians, according to the Town of Marana.
