MARANA, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Marana drivers can expect some minor backup on Interstate 10 and Twin Peaks Road this weekend, as Tucsonans head out to the grand opening of the Tucson Premium Outlets.

The outlets, which are located at 6401 West Marana Center Blvd (near Twin Peaks Road and Linda Vista Boulevard) open at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 1. Those who live and work in the area should plan for extra travel time all day long on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Cortaro Road or Marana Road are also acceptable alternates for drivers who want to avoid the area altogether for the next few days.

I-10 travelers have most likely seen a sign on the side of westbound I-10, near Cortaro Road, warning of possible slow downs.

Marana Police will direct traffic near the entrance to the outlet mall to help reduce drive time.
