Restoration projects have begun to restore trails and visitor amenities in the Chiricahua Mountains, Galiuro Mountains and Cochise Stronghold in the Dragoon Mountains.

Both local and national organizations are working to repair the areas to their previous conditions since they have been affected recently by wildfires and subsequent monsoons.  This is being funded by a private-public partnership between the Arizona Community Foundation (ACF) of Cochise to the Arizona Wilderness Coalition (AWC).

The lands being restored are rich in ecological value as well as human history. These areas contain habitats for rare species and space for recreational activities.
