Road Recovery: Fog sealing takes place in four new areas

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucson drivers will see more overnight road improvement this week on the southeast side and in part of midtown.

Fog sealing will take place in four different spots from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. through next Tuesday, November 3, according to a City of Tucson press release. The main work hours will affect travelers Monday through Thursday.

Construction will impact the following areas:

- Golf Links Road from Kolb Road to Mann Avenue

- Golf Links Road and Wilmot Road intersection

- Wilmot Road from 29th Street to Nicaragua Drive

- 22nd Street from Alvernon Way to Swan Road

Fog sealing is the application of a thin layer of asphalt over a worn street, covering cracks and imperfections. It is used to preserve and protect a roadway without having to completely repave it.

Business access should remain in place for the duration of this project. Drivers need to plan for lane closures and delays while heading through this and any other work zone.

This is all part of Road Recovery, the $100 million, five year street bond program.
