Sewer repair impacts west side traffic

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Sewer repair work is set to delay travel on the west side this week, according to Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation officials.

The intersection of Grande Avenue and Saint Mary's Road will have 24 hour lane closures and turn restrictions from 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27 to 3 p.m. on Friday, October 30. 

Travelers can expect the following traffic impacts: 

  • One northbound and one southbound lane on Grande Avenue will be closed.
  • Motorists will utilize the southbound lanes for northbound and southbound travel on Grande Avenue.
  • Eastbound traffic on St. Mary’s Road will be limited to one lane.
  • No northbound turns will be permitted from St. Mary’s Road onto Grande Avenue.  

Drivers should slow down and be careful in this and any construction zone around town.

    The City of Sierra Vista would like to alert motorists to speed reductions and upcoming lane restrictions at the Highway 90 Bypass/Hatfield/Buffalo Soldier Trail intersection during construction, which is planned to continue through summer 2018.
