'Everyone Runs' to cause road closures Sunday morning

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Drivers on Tucson's northeast side can expect road restrictions on Sunday, Nov. 8, while the "Everyone Runs" half marathon takes place near Sabino High School.

The half marathon run begins at 7:15 a.m. and the 5K starts at 7:20 a.m. The Children's Fun Run begins at 8:20 a.m.

Snyder Road will close between Harrison Road and Catalina Highway from 7:15 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. It will remain open to local traffic, meaning those who live along this road will be able to drive through here.

The course also travels on parts of Harrison Road, Soldiers Trail, Melpomene Way and Catalina Highway. Speed limits will be reduced to 25 miles per hour from 7:15 to 11 a.m. Sunday for safety.

Northeast side travelers can also expect a few other short-term delays in this area when runners have to cross streets.

Drive slowly and carefully. Watch for runners and other pedestrians.
