TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

She is a 10-month-old chocolate lab mix who was surrendered to the Pima Animal Care Center by her owner just four days ago due to their living situation.

At first Malia was very nervous and a little fearful when she first came to PACC.  She was just a little overwhelmed with the various animals and smells she was surrounded by, but she is getting better by the day though and although she still gets a little nervous, she is a sweetheart.

This lovable pup would probably do well in a multi dog home and will require training and attention in her new home.  She likes to go on walks, play fetch and seems to get along with other dogs from what staff has observed.  Currently Malia has a kennel mate, but an introduction to both children and animals is recommended.

Thanks to the PACC adoption special this month on bigger dogs (weighing over 25 pounds) Malia's adoption fee has been waived, her new family will only have to pay the $16 licensing fee.

On a happy note, two previous Tails - Icelynn and Doc have been adopted!

Stop by PACC at 4000 N. Silverbell Road and see if Malia is a good match for your family.

Malia is looking good today thanks to Wags My Tail. To see other successful adoptions, thanks to an appearance on Tuesday's Tail click here.  For more photos of today's Tail check out the Ted Hewitt Photography Facebook page.

“Our existing foster program targets very young animals as well as pets recovering from illnesses in injuries,” said Kristen Auerbach, Director of Animal Care Services at PACC, in a recent news release. “This grant will allow us to help a population which isn’t typically considered for foster – healthy, adult dogs and cats.”
