TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Wednesday was a great night to be a Pueblo Warrior.

Pueblo High's girls basketball team beat the Cholla Chargers 98-11 behind a 57-point performance by sophomore guard Alicia Reyes.

Reyes broke the state record for made three-pointers in a game with 17. The previous record of 13 had stood for 21 years.

Her 57-points were the 3rd most in state history. She sits behind only Antelope’s Diane Beecroft (1977-78) who holds the top two spots with performances of 65 and 58.

Reyes’s 57 tops the school and previous Southern Arizona-high of 54 scored by fellow Pueblo Warrior Angela Lopez in a 2007-08 game against Santa Rita.

Pueblo (19-3, 9-0) entered the week ranked 9th in Division III

Meanwhile, Isaiah Attles scored 20 points to lead the school’s boys team to a 63-42 win over visiting Cholla.

The victory for the Warriors (13-8, 8-2) ended the Chargers six-game win streak and drew Pueblo even with Cholla (12-8, 8-2) for second place in Division III Section III.

Both teams are chasing undefeated Case Grande (10-0).

Robert Taylor added 14 for the Warriors who remained unbeaten (7-0) at home.
