It's pretty simple, but a YouTube clip posted by LETS MELT THIS already has over half a million views in a week. The clip shows how a styrofoam cup reacts in a bowl of acetone, a potent chemical you typically smell from nail polish remover.
According to iflscience.com, the acetone breaks down the chain of polystyrene monomers that makes up the styrofoam, and releases the trapped pockets of air.
