TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Blake Martinez became the 27th player from a Tucson-area high school to be drafted by a National Football League team on Saturday when he was selected in the 4th round by the Green Bay Packers.

His selection reunites him in the same division with his high school teammate Ka’deem Carey who is beginning his 3rd season with the Packers main rival, the Chicago Bears.

Martinez and Carey are the lone two Tucsonans currently on an active NFL roster. Both prepped at Canyon del Oro High School in Oro Valley where they played together on the 2010 Dorados team that lost in the Class 4A Division I state championship game to Scottsdale Saguaro.

Martinez had a stellar four-year career at Stanford where he was an All-American and played on three Rose Bowl winning teams.
