TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Meet Betty, today's Tuesday's Tail.

She is a 10-year-old pit bull mix, who was owner surrendered to Pima Animal Care Center over a month ago.  Betty was suffering from mammary masses and painful ear hematomas, caused by long term ear infections. It was thought she'd have to be put to sleep, but thanks to donations to PACC's Medical fund, the veterinarians were able to fix her ears and remove the tumors (which were found to be benign.

After all of that Betty is still full of love and energy (remarkable for a pup who is 10 years old).  She is an absolute favorite of PACC volunteers, and she's housebroken.

Due to the fact she's been at PACC for over a month, her adoption fee has been waived and for the $16 licensing fee she can go home with her forever family today!  Stop by and check Betty out at PACC at 4000 N. Silverbell Road.

On a happy note, last week's pet Hermes has been adopted and is with his new forever family.

“Our existing foster program targets very young animals as well as pets recovering from illnesses in injuries,” said Kristen Auerbach, Director of Animal Care Services at PACC, in a recent news release. “This grant will allow us to help a population which isn’t typically considered for foster – healthy, adult dogs and cats.”
