Summer meal programs across southern Arizona

Several districts in southern Arizona are participating in the Summer Food Service Program for children.  

The purpose of the program is to provide nutritious meals to children 18 years old and younger, when school is not in session. Sometimes these are the only meals these children receive.  

Sites at many districts will be subject to closure if participation falls below required levels to operate the Summer Program.

SUNNYSIDE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT summer meals will run from May 31, through July 22. The program and district will be closed on July 4 and 5 in observance of Independence Day. 

Breakfast will be served from 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM and lunch will be served from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 
*Desert View & Sunnyside High Schools will serve breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and lunch from 10:30 a.m. to noon daily.

The following sites will open starting May 31, Monday-Thursday:

  • Sunnyside High School - 1725 E. Bilby Rd.
  • Desert View High School - 4101 E. Valencia Rd.
  • Summit View Elementary - 1900 E. Summit St.
  • Sierra 2-8 School - 5801 S. Del Moral Blvd.
  • Rivera Elementary (starts 6/1) - 5102 S. Cherry Ave.
  • Gallego Primary - 6200 S. Hemisphere Pl.

The following sites will open starting June 6, Monday-Thursday:

  • Drexel Elementary - 801 E. Drexel Rd.
  • Ocotillo Elementary - 5702 S. Campbell Ave.
  • Apollo Middle School - 265 W. Nebraska St.
  • San Xavier Ed. Center - 1960 Wa:k Lane
  • Los Amigos Elementary - 2200 E. Drexel Rd.
  • Elvira Elementary - 250 W. Elvira Rd.
  • Santa Clara Elementary - 6910 S. Santa Clara Ave.
  • Lauffer Middle School - 5385 E. Littletown Rd.
  • Challenger Middle School - 100 E. Elvira Rd.
  • Mission Manor Elementary - 600 W. Santa Rosa St.

The following sites will open starting June 10, Fridays:

  • Cherry Ave Recreation Center - 5085 S. Cherry Ave
  • Boys & Girls Club (lunch only) - 5901 S Santa Clara Rd.
  • Littletown Recreation Center - 6465 S Craycroft Rd.
  • San Xavier Ed. Center - 1960 Wa:k Lane

AMPHITHEATER SCHOOL SITES to offer free summer breakfast and lunch at the following locations:  

  • Amphitheater High School - 125W. Yavapai  Breakfast - 7:30-8:30 a.m.; Lunch - 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (May 26 & 27; May 31-June 3; June 6-23, M-TH)

The following locations will be open May 31 to June 3 and then June 6 to 23 (Monday to Thursday): 

  • Amphitheater Middle School - 315 E. Prince    Breakfast - 8:00-8:30 a.m.; Lunch - 12:00-12:30 p.m. 
  • La Cima Middle School - 5600 N. La Canada Dr. Breakfast - 8:00-8:30 a.m.; Lunch - 12:30 to 1 p.m. 
  • Keeling Elementary - 2837 N. Los Altos Ave. Breakfast - 8:00-8:30 a.m.; Lunch - 12:00-12:30 p.m. 
  • Prince Elementary - 125 E. Prince Rd. Breakfast - 8:00-8:30 a.m.; Lunch - 12:00-12:30 p.m.
  • Walker Elementary - 1750 W. Roller Coaster Rd. Breakfast - 8:00-8:30 a.m.; Lunch -12:00-12:30 p.m.    
  • Holaway Elementary - 3500 N. Cherry Ave. Breakfast - 8:00-8:30 a.m.; Lunch - 12:00-12:30 p.m.
  • Nash Elementary - 515 W. Kelso St. Breakfast - 8:00-8:30 a.m.; Lunch - 12:00-12:30 p.m.

TUCSON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT Food Services Department will sponsor a Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) beginning June 6, and ending July 1. 

  • Meal service to T.U.S.D. high schools and associated sites may begin on May 31. 
  • Meal service to NON-High School sites may begin on June 1 with special approval.
