TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A 60-year-old man died Thursday, more than a week after he was hit by a vehicle in the 2000 block of East Prince Road.

Sgt. Pete Dugan, spokesman for the Tucson Police Department, said Michael Gary Edminster passed away at a local hospital.

Dugan said Edminster was running across the road, not in a crosswalk, when he was struck around 8 p.m. on June 4.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with investigators.

Dugan said speed and impairment did not appear to be factors in the collision and no citations were issued.

Dugan said this is the sixth accident involving a pedestrian in 2016. There were six in all of 2015.
