Watson punches ticket to Rio

TUCSON, Ariz. –  Sage Watson accomplished a major feat in her career today when she was chosen to represent Canada in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She will be running the 400-meter hurdles, the event in which she earned First-Team All-America honors at the NCAA Championships last month.

She clocked a time of 55.88 today which was good for second place in the field at the Canadian Olympic Trials. The 2016 Summer Olympics will begin on August 5th.

At least one former Wildcat/training partner was excited. Georganne Moline, the 2012 Olympian who pulled out of the U.S. trials thanks to a back injury.
