TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

And the hits keep coming for the food culture in Tucson.

On Tuesday, Aug. 23, The New York Times published a story about the cuisine in the Old Pueblo.

The story by Kim Severson quickly became the most shared on the NYT website.

Of the food life here, Severson wrote "Coaxing a vibrant food culture from this land of heat and cactuses an hour’s drive north of the Mexican border seems an exhausting and impossible quest. But it’s never a good idea to underestimate a desert rat. Tucson, it turns out, is a muscular food town."

The piece comes just a few months after Tucson was awarded the UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. Read more about the award HERE.
