PIMA COUNTY, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A 36-year-old man died Sunday morning, Sept. 4, after crashing his dirt bike while apparently trying to jump over a gully on Tucson's southeast side.

Pima County Sheriff's Department deputies received a call at 10:52 a.m. regarding a single dirt-bike crash in the desert area of the 12800 block of South Wentworth Road, according to a media release.

When they arrived on scene, they found Arlyn Van De Mark and his dirt bike. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release.

Van De Mark was wearing a helmet and other protective gear, and police don't believe he was impaired, according to PCSD.

A GoFundMe account has been set up for the Van De Mark family.

It may be bad news for a bear spotted several times in an area in Rio Rico the last few weeks, state wildlife workers may have to put it down.  However, they may not have to kill it, IF neighbors change their ways.
