Police say 18-year-old Alex Joseph Haider turned himself in to officers on Sunday night, Sept. 3.

Haider was booked into the Pima County Jail on the following charges: attempted armed robbery, aggravated robbery, aggravated assault with a weapon, kidnapping and an unrelated misdemeanor warrant.

According to police two men entered the Chariot Pizza at 3930 N. Flowing Wells Road through an unlocked back door just before 11 p.m., after the business had closed. One suspect allegedly sprayed an employee with what appeared to be pepper spray and got into a struggle with a second employee. During the struggle, the second suspect allegedly stabbed the employee several times. The first suspect also allegedly stomped on the employee.

The stabbing victim was taken to Banner-University Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The employee who had been pepper-sprayed was treated at the scene.

The two suspects fled on foot after attempting to take money from the cash register, police said.

Multiple tips on possible suspects led police to Haider after the incident was reported here.
