TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Visitors to the Gadsden Pacific Toy Train Operating Museum will be seeing something new at the museum, a mural where a blank wall used to be at the HO Layout.

The new mural, 14 feet long and three feet high was painted by 16-year-old Joy Kuyper, an art student and senior at Cienega High School. Joy painted the mural as part of a community service project, she put in about 15 volunteer hours during her summer to finish the project that she also designed.

The mural is a view of the Catalina Mountains with several artist inspired additions, like a dragon and planets.

Joy will be present at the Fall Open House from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11 at the Gadsden Pacific Toy Train Operating Museum (3975 Miller Avenue).
