TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

On Friday Tucson News Now was able to get an inside look at the high tech equipment that Border Patrol agents use to train.

The main focus of training was use of force, mainly the tactics of using less lethal force.

Agents have seven options for less lethal weapons. They include a type of pepper spray, a taser, a baton, and a paint ball type gun that shoots pepper balls.

Border Patrol agents are also using technology to help them train. The Tucson Sector has a virtual simulator training machine. It gives the trainee a 300 degree view of a situation an agent would see on a daily basis. This simulator allows the BP agents to train on different scenarios.

After the scenario, the agent and the instructor will go through what took place that way the agent can see the things he or she did well. Plus the instructor will point out things that the agent can improve upon.
