Morning shooting on south side leads to 2 arrests

PIMA COUNTY, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Two men are in jail after a shooting early Saturday morning left a woman injured.

The incident happened around 5:15 a.m. in the 7000 block of South Westover Avenue, where deputies were called to respond to a fight. Once there, they were told that two men had fought, several gunshots were heard, and a vehicle fled, according to a media release.

Deputies found the vehicle, saw evidence of a shooting, and had the female driver transported for injuries from the shooting. Her two male passengers were detained for questioning, resulting in the arrest of Stephen Romero-Valencia, 26, and Andrew Valencia, 23.

Both men are being charged with drive-by shooting, discharging a firearm at a residence and aggravated assault – all felonies.
