TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A standoff between police and car theft suspects on the east side has ended.

The situation began around 7:30 a.m. in the 2800 block of South Beechwood Avenue, according to Sgt. Peter Dugan, a spokesman for the Tucson Police Department.

A stolen vehicle was located in front of a house, and it was determined that the theft suspects were inside, he said.

A standoff ensued, as suspects had warrants for other offenses and didn't want to come out, he said.

The matter resolved around 1:30 p.m., when an unknown number of suspects were taken into custody without further incident, Dugan said.
