TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Arizona Board of Regents announced they have selected R. William Funk and Associates as the firm to help in the search for a new University of Arizona president.

Back in June, President Ann Weaver Hart announced she will not seek a contract extension after her current one expires in 2018.

An ABOR spokesperson said a contract with the firm has not yet been finalized, so there is no information on how much the firm will be paid.

The firm has consulted other large universities in their search for officials.

  • University of Mississippi Chancellor- $110,000
  • LSU President- $120,000
  • Rutgers President- $150,000
  • Ohio State University Provost-  $154,000

"On behalf of Funk & Associates, I am honored to have been chosen to conduct the search for the next president of the University of Arizona," president and founder of the firm, R. William Funk said in a recent ABOR release. "As your consultant, our firm will adhere to the highest standards of professional ethics, procedures and practices regarding the search, with a commitment to diversity and excellence."

ABOR said they will select and announce the search advisory committee in the next several weeks. Search guidelines and leadership profile will also be made available soon.

ABOR said they expect a new president will be in place by summer of 2017.
