Taylor has a coming out party in UA's 47-28 win

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Bring on the Huskies.

The Arizona Wildcats concluded the non-conference part of their 2016 schedule with a 47-28 win over Hawai’i Saturday night at Arizona Stadium.

The bad news is UA lost starting running back Nick Wilson to an ankle injury.

The good news is Wilson’s backup freshman JJ Taylor ran for 168 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries.

Quarterback Brandon Dawkins finished the game 16-of-21 passing for 235 yards and a 56-yard touchdown pass to Shun Brown, the first score of Brown’s career.

Brown finished the night with five catches for 92 yards.

Dawkins ran for 118 yards on 15 carries and three more scores.

The Wildcats (2-1) forced two turnovers, another interception by sophomore Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles, his second of the season and a fumble recovery by Brandon Rutt.

Michael Barton led the defense with eight tackles. DeAndre Miller had the Cats lone sack.

Steven Lakalaka ran for two touchdowns for the Rainbow Warriors (1-3)

The Wildcats host Washington next Saturday in their Pac-12 Conference opener. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
