TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The U.S. Attorney's Office says Frederick Lassiter, 48 of Tucson, was sentenced last week to 70 months in prison on child pornography charges.

According to an FBI investigation Lassiter used a peer-to-peer network to search for and download more than 1,000 images and videos. He then shared those images with others.

According to a release Lassiter pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography and one count of knowing access of child pornography.

Lassiter's case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a 10-year-old program designed to fight back against child sexual abuse.
