Suspect caught in Tucson Estates shooting

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The suspect from Tuesday evening's shooting in Tucson Estates has been caught, according to a release from the Pima County Sheriff's Department. 

18-year-old Michel Mendivil-Lopez was taken into custody at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21 by detectives with the Robbery/Assault Unit, with help from the Fugitive Investigative Strike Team and San Xavier District Directed Patrol.

Mendivil-Lopez is facing the following charges attempted 1st degree murder, armed robbery, domestic violence aggravated assault for causing serious physical injury, and domestic violence aggravated assault with a weapon.  He has been booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex.

    Sgt. Cory Runge said the Yavapai County Medical Examiner’s Office positively identified her using dental records. Cathryn Gorospe’s remains were found last Friday near Mayer.
