Tucson drug dealer sentenced to 50 years in prison

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A federal judge in Tucson has sentenced a drug trafficker, a five-time convicted felon, to 50 1/2 years in prison.

The Arizona Attorney General's Office said it worked with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to prosecute Thaddaeus Sanchez Ruelas.

Ruelas was accused of selling more than 600 grams of meth to police informants and undercover agents between December 2014 and April 2015.

In June, a jury found Ruelas guilty of 19 felony counts including conspiracy, transportation for sale of methamphetamine, possession of heroin and cocaine, use of wire communications in drug transactions and misconduct involving weapons.
