Scott joined KOLD News 13 in over a decade ago as the station's Sports Director.  He has garnered nearly a dozen Associated Press Awards over his 18 years of broadcasting, ten  Emmy nominations and four Emmy wins.  The most recent award came in 2012 as the anchor of the KOLD news 13 Live at 4pm.

Scott was thrilled to return home to Tucson in 2001 as KOLD-TV Sports Director.  His popular Friday night "Overtime!" segments elevated coverage of the high school football scene to new proportions.

After 13 years covering sports, he moved over to the news desk and anchored the morning news for nearly four years.  In 2011, Scott anchored both the mornings and 4pm news.  This allowed him to enjoy both worlds and still coach his son's Jr. high basketball team.  He left the mornings for good to take over Fox 11's news at 9pm while continuing on KOLD at 4pm.

Scott's professional broadcasting career began in 1994 at KPAX-TV in Missoula, Montana. As the weekday general news reporter and weekend sports anchor, he covered many big stories including the capture of the Una-Bomber, local militia conflicts and the University of Montana Grizzlies trip to the I-AA National Football Championship. Big Red Country came calling in 1997, at which time Scott energetically covered the Nebraska Cornhuskers as Sports Director at the CBS affiliate KOLN-TV in Lincoln.

Scott is a graduate of Benson High School and earned his degree in Media Arts and Journalism at the University of Arizona. During his final two years of study, Scott also worked as a Teaching Parent in the residence halls of the Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and the Blind. In addition to teaching hearing-impaired students, he relished coaching athletics and announcing games for visually-impaired fans. It was at ASDB where he met his wife Teresa. He is also still fluent in American Sign Language and has taught his children some of the language.

Reporting on news in the community that has been such an important part of his life is a dream come true. This challenge should not reflect a withdrawal from his love of sports, though he is not sure if he is traveling lighter as a fan. Instead of lugging heavy cameras and microphones to the Diamondbacks and University of Arizona games, these days Scott can be seen happily toting his three young children. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Scott enjoys hiking in the desert, skiing, biking drawing and fishing.
