Old Glory Relay travels through Tucson

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

An American flag that has been making its way across the country is passing through Tucson on Thursday.

Runners in the Old Glory Relay have been working together to bring the flag from coast to coast on a 4,216-mile journey.

This is an annual run that is organized by Team Red, White and Blue, a nonprofit organization that helps veterans make the transition from military to civilian life.

The relay began in Washington on Sept. 11 and will finish on Veterans Day in Tampa, Fla.

The flag will pass by the following locations Thursday, starting at Old Main on the University of Arizona campus:

  • University of Arizona
  • 4th Ave
  • Downtown Tucson
  • Tucson Fire Station
  • St. Augustine’s Cathedral
  • Tucson Police Department
  • Santa Cruz Catholic School
  • Pima County Sheriff’s Department
  • Border Patrol
  • Davis-Monthan Air Force Base
  • Davis-Monthan Boneyard 
  • Empire High School
  • Cienega High school 
  • Vail School District Office
  • Benson City Hall
