A little (or BIG) Fish could be what UA's defense need

Super senior Aiulua Fanene collected two tackles Saturday night at UCLA, including one tackle-for-loss.

The Nu’uuli, American Samoa product, known by his nickname Fish, arrived at Arizona in 2010 and redshirted as a true freshman. He played in 10 games as a redshirt freshman in 2011, before leaving to serve a two-year Mormon Mission.

He returned in 2014 and played in the first three games of the season, but didn’t register any statistics.

Last season, he played in 11 games, primarily being used on special teams.

So when Fanene collected his tackle-for-loss against the Bruins on Saturday, it marked his first TFL since Nov. 26, 2011 (nearly five years) against Louisiana. It was his first tackle-for-loss against a conference opponent. His other ½ tackle-for-loss in his career game against Northern Arizona.

Fanene started at nose tackle Saturday against UCLA with Parker Zellers sidelined with a knee injury.
