Brandon Dawkins started the game at quarterback for Arizona and hit wide receiver Shun Brown for a 75-yard touchdown on the first play of the game.
That was as good as it got for UA as Utah rallied from a 14-3 first half deficit Saturday night to win 36-23 at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City.
Dawkins eventually left the game in the second half after aggravating his existing rib injury. Khalil Tate finished the night at quarterback for the Wildcats (2-4, 0-3).
The Cats sophomore quarterback threw a pair of interceptions while the freshman signal caller had one.
Tate hit Samajie Grant for a 63-yard fourth quarter touchdown. Trey Griffey finished with four catches for 109 yards for Arizona.
Utah (5-1, 2-1) quarterback Troy Williams threw for a touchdown and ran for two more.
Arizona returns home next Saturday to face USC. The Trojans won their second straight game Saturday beating Colorado 21-17 at the Coliseum in Los Angeles.
