SAHUARITA, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Wondering what to do with some of those hard to get rid of items? You may want to check this event out.
The event is a partnership between the Town of Sahuarita and the Green Valley Council and sponsored by Freeport-McMorRan and the White Elephant. It will be held at the Town of Sahuarita Municipal Complex 375 W. Sahuarita Center Way, on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 8 a.m. to noon.
GVC will be collecting monetary donations to continue the program, with the Sahuarita Food Bank collecting non-perishable and monetary donations.
The following items will be accepted:
automotive fluids, rechargeable batteries, drain cleaners, fire extinguishers, fluorescent light bulbs, herbicides, lawn/garden products, household cleaners, propane tanks, pool chemicals, polishers, pesticides, solvents, ink and toner cartridges.
Expired medications will be collected by Dispose-A-Med, hosted by the Sahuarita Police Department. No inhalers or sharps(needles) will be accepted.
Cooking oils, both new and old will be collected by Grecycle.
Computer equipment will be collected by RISE Equipment Recycling Center. No CRT (cathode ray tube) monitors or CRT TVs.
Latex paint will be collected by Beacon Group.
No paper will be accepted during this event, a separate shredding event has been set up for Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Town of Sahuarita.
