TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A 21-year-old man was riding on the top of a friend's vehicle when he fell and suffered fatal injuries in Tucson earlier this month, authorities said.

The Tucson Police Department said Tyler Lee Grow was injured Sunday, Oct. 2, and died four days later at a local hospital.

"The initial investigation revealed that the victim was standing on top of a vehicle while it was being driven by a friend," the TPD said in a news release. "The victim fell off of the vehicle while in motion, resulting in serious injuries."

The incident, which remains under investigation, happened in the Rita Ranch area. No citations have been issued, according to the TPD.

Anyone with information on the accident is asked to call 88-CRIME.
