MARANA, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

They locate, identity and honor veterans twice a month. Today, the group Missing in America Project buried 27 men. They represent the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps. They were buried at the new Arizona Veterans Memorials Cemetery in Marana.

M.I.A.P. says a lot of veterans will become homeless or distance themselves from their family. These vets die and sometimes are left at the funeral home until they're claimed. Sometimes it takes many years to claim the individuals.

If families don't know about the death of their loved one. MIAP steps in and makes sure the vet is buried with honors.
